DNA tests by uncertified lab!

The mysterious judgement stands on the fact of DNA results, which were apparently conducted by uncertified lab...Yes that is really strange thing to believe. The chain of custody in DNA evidence is most important and sources reveal that the chemical analyzer who testified in court also "categorically admitted that he did not follow any NABL guidelines at the Kalina lab". The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) accreditation means that the lab conforms to the international standard for quality and competence. It judges competence of a lab to generate accurate test reports from the time a sample is collected to final delivery of a report.

It is necessary to maintain the chain of custody for evidentiary purposes. Here are some more details to why it is important.

This indicates that the reports which were produced by public prosecutor in the court aren't reliable. So how can a judgement be passed based on it?

DNA tests are very sensitive and need to be performed absolutely according to guidelines -- example before handling the second sample the gloves need to changed. From what i learnt, 99.7% dna is same in male and female. its the .3% that makes all the diffeence. Also the swabs need to be stored at certain temperature etc and not in drawers.

I agree. 99% people dont understand what 'chain of custody' in dna testing means? its because DNA stuff is pretty recent. if my semen is tested with my blood sample the dna will come positive - duh!!!
thats simple.

99.7% sample is smae in male and female. its the .3% that determines the outcome. if no chain, then chances of contamination goes up tremendously. DNA tests require changing gloves eachtime a sample is handled and samples stored at certain temperature and in a certain way. if i use the same pair of gloves and handle 2 samples, then its already contaminated.
